John Hynes signed a multiyear contract with the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday. Terms of the new deal, which begins next season, were not released.

The 51-year-old, has been Wild coach since Nov. 27, 2023, and was entering the final season of his contract.

In his three seasons with Minnesota, Hynes is 125-78-24 and has guided it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs twice, including its first series win last season since 2015. He is 7-10 in the postseason with the Wild.

Hynes is 409-333-87 with Minnesota, the Nashville Predators (2019-23) and New Jersey Devils (2015-19).

The Wild open the regular season at Nashville on Oct. 1.
