Status report

Spurgeon and Maatta will both return after missing four and three games, respectively, with upper-body injuries. Wild coach John Hynes said Lorenz will return to the lineup after missing Minnesota’s 4-3 overtime loss at the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday and that he has “one decision up front” when it comes to the lineup.

The Wild reassigned defenseman Carson Lambos to Iowa of the American Hockey League. Backlund is day to day.

The forward was injured late in the third period of Calgary's 3-2 win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday. "There'll be a little moving around," Flames coach Ryan Huska said.

Jones was recalled from Calgary of the AHL on Tuesday and will make his season debut.
