It’s no mystery that the Minnesota Wild have gone big game hunting on the trade market over the past few years. The team made the most significant trade of last season when they acquired Quinn Hughes from the Vancouver Canucks, and beyond that, the club has been engaged in a longstanding search for a true No. 1 center.
Since the Hughes trade depleted the team’s most valuable trade assets, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reported yesterday that the Wild “have dangled” 22-year-old Danila Yurov “as part of packages aimed at landing bigger fish.”
Yurov was a first-round pick at the 2022 draft and has become one of the team’s most promising young talents. A KHL champion with the ability to play both at center and on the wing, Yurov scored 12 goals and 27 points in 73 games in 2025-26, his rookie KHL campaign.
So far this season, Yurov has four goals and five points in 14 contests. A year ago, Elite Prospects ranked Yurov the No. 2 prospect in the Wild’s system, calling him “a quick, intelligent player with physical bite” who “should be able to carve out success as a middle-six center in the NHL.”
