While his KHL rights were acquired by Admiral Vladivostok earlier this week, Maple Leafs prospect Semyon Der-Arguchintsev isn’t focused on signing with his new team. Instead, his agent Shumi Babaev told RB Sport’s Olesya Usova that his client remains focused on signing with Toronto, noting that there is a process going on that he didn’t want to comment further on.
Der-Arguchintsev spent his entry-level contract in the AHL with the Marlies, picking up 40 points in 50 games in 2022-23. Since then, the 25-year-old has spent the last three years in the KHL and is coming off a season that saw him record six goals and 31 assists in 57 games.

A Sabres prospect will have a new team next season. OHL Soo announced that they’ve signed Doman Kristof Szongoth for the upcoming season. The 18-year-old center was a fifth-round pick by Buffalo back in June, going 156th overall.
Szongoth spent last season playing in Finland’s junior system, picking up 28 points in 44 games with KooKoo at the under-20 level. He also played in several international tournaments for Hungary, including the World Championship in May where he picked up a goal in seven games in his second time in the tournament before even being drafted.
After spending the past 14 seasons working in Florida’s front office, Bryan McCabe is leaving the organization, Panthers GM Bill Zito confirmed to David Dwork of The Hockey News. The long-time defenseman had been their Director of Player Personnel for the last nine seasons. It’s unclear at this time if McCabe has another position lined up as this is typically the time of year that front office staff change organizations.
The Blackhawks have given Mike Donaghey a promotion. Scott Powers of The Athletic relays (Twitter link) that Donaghey is now vice president of amateur scouting and player personnel. He had previously served as their amateur scouting director for the past four seasons.
Donaghey has worked in Chicago’s front office since 2009 and this is his fourth promotion over that stretch.
