As the Ottawa Senators get set to hit the ice Thursday, they'll be without a couple of players.
Head coach Travis Green announced Wednesday that defenceman Artem Zub and forward Warren Foegele will not take the ice with the main group as they are nursing injuries.
Green said both players have been skating and expects both players to be back in practice at some point before the season starts.
"They're skating. I always tell you guys that when they're skating, they're close," Green told reporters.
"I would expect both of them to be with the team in the next week to two weeks.
Zub has been rehabbing a lower-body injury he suffered during the Senators' first-round playoff series against the Carolina Hurricanes. The 30-year-old posted a career-high five goals and 30 points in 81 regular-season games but was limited to just 7:44 in Game 1 of the playoffs before missing the rest of the series.
Foegele joined the Senators ahead of the NHL trade deadline, scoring six goals and eight points in 21 regular-season games but went pointless in the post-season.
