There's another development in the Dylan Larkin saga.

The Detroit Red Wings star will not play Thursday against the Chicago Blackhawks, head coach Todd McLellan told reporters. He added that interim general manager Shawn Horcoff will address the situation.

Larkin, 30, requested a trade during the summer. He did report to the team, but was stripped of his captaincy.

Larkin did not practise Wednesday and the current plan is for him not to play until a trade is complete, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported.

The three-time all-star, who has a no-trade clause, has reportedly expanded his trade list to 10 teams.

Helene St. James of The Detroit Free Press has reported that Larkin's list now includes the Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild, Vegas Golden Knights, Dallas Stars, Washington Capitals, Carolina Hurricanes, Utah Mammoth, Tampa Bay Lightning, New Jersey Devils and Colorado Avalanche.

While former general manager Steve Yzerman fielded calls for Larkin, those talks stalled while the Red Wings searched for a new head of hockey operations once he was removed from his post on July 15. That search is ongoing but Horcoff was elevated to interim general manager in September and seemingly has the authority to complete a Larkin trade.

One team notably not on Larkin's trade list is the Montreal Canadiens, even after Canadiens fans chanted"we want Larkin!" during a recent visit by the Red Wings.

However, Red Wings assistant GM Kris Draper has watched the Canadiens live several times this season.
