Status report
The Red Wings held an optional morning skate. Compher will return after missing seven games because of an undisclosed injury.
Detroit sent forward Sheldon Dries to Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League on Thursday to create a roster spot for Compher. Postava was recalled from Grand Rapids on Thursday after Tarasov, a goalie, “tweaked something in practice” on Wednesday, said coach Todd McLellan, who added, “Just as a precaution, we don't think it's serious, but Postava will back up.”
Rossi will return after missing two games because of an illness.
Ohgren, a forward, appears to be a healthy scratch for the first time this season based on the Canucks optional morning skate.
Mancini will replace Schenn, a defenseman.
