Zach Hyman is heading back to the injured reserve.

The Edmonton Oilers forward has been placed on IR with a"stiff neck," head coach Mike Babcock told reporters on Wednesday.

Hyman suffered the injury in Monday's loss to the Detroit Red Wings when he took a hit from Andreas Englund.

He hit his head hard on the glass and appeared dazed. He required assistance to leave the ice.

Hyman was in just his fifth game back after missing over two weeks with an upper-body injury he suffered in the Oilers' pre-season finale. Despite the pre-season injury, Hyman did play in the regular-season opener before going on IR.

The 34-year-old has one goal in six games played this season.
