Garrett Wilson has re-signed with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the team announced in a press release. The 35-year-old was the Flyers Masterton trophy nominee in his seventh season under the Philadelphia organization. Wilson, the captain of the Phantoms, is the team’s longest-tenured player in their history.
The Barrie native had not played an NHL game since the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs, but managed a late-season call-up with the Flyers, making his return to the show on March 19, 2026, 2,529 days in between those games. Originally an 107th overall pick in 2009 with the Florida Panthers, Wilson has been in professional hockey for 15 years across the NHL, AHL and ECHL, playing 87 games in the NHL, tallying eight points with the Panthers, Penguins, and Flyers this past season.
In the AHL, he’s had a much more productive career, scoring 156 goals for 353 points across a 754-game span. He also spent back-to-back seasons from 2022-23 to 2023-24 as the AHL’s most penalized player. Larson will make a total of $275K guaranteed, according to puckpedia, through the 2027-28 season. The 25-year-old just ended his first full professional season in Bridgeport, scoring 17 goals for 28 points in 63 games played. Before the NHL, Larson was a college hockey player in the state of Michigan, his native U.S.
state, where the Brighton native played one season with Northern Michigan before joining the Michigan State Spartans for two seasons. He scored 83 points in his 111-game NCAA career across three seasons. Calgary Flames second-round selection Chase Harrington is set to return to the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL, according to Brad Elliott Schlossman of the Grand Forks Herald.
Harrington was taken 36th overall in the 2026 draft, finishing his 2025-26 season scoring 57 points in 61 games with Spokane. The 18-year-old Prince George native is known for his impact on the game in many ways, including his physical skill that helps him win puck battles, his playmaking ability that combines with his skating. Perhaps, as Harrington mentioned in his draft availability, he will wait on an NCAA commitment for 2027-28 and weigh his options as he is set for his fourth season in the ‘Dub’.
