Marc-Edouard Vlasic is unofficially calling it a career.
"I'm done, yeah," Vlasic responded when asked if he was done playing hockey by reporters on Tuesday.
"Semi-retired. Not official," the former Team Canada defenceman added.
Vlasic, 39, has not suited up for NHL action since playing 27 games during the 2024-25 season.
He registered three points and a minus-10 rating with the Sharks that campaign, well below his usual output over his 19-year career with the franchise.
As for what's next, Vlasic said he's not interested in trying to catch on with an NHL team and is instead spending his time focusing on being a"full-time dad."
"I'm loving it a lot more," said Vlasic. I've been with her everyday.
it's cool to see the evolution of it. (She's) starting to crawl, starting to motor quite a bit now, so I got my hands full.
And when it comes to the possibility of staying in the sport of hockey in another role — coach or otherwise — Vlasic simply responded that it's"too soon."
