Chris Tanev is set to face his former team.
The Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman said Friday he's ready to return Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m.
PT).
"All signs are pointing that way for sure," Tanev said after practice."Feel good, sorta did the treatment that was recommended to me and [I'm] ready to rumble tomorrow, hopefully."
Tanev, 36, was injured in a victory over the Colorado Avalanche earlier this month. He had one assist in six games before being forced out of the lineup.
The veteran blue-liner returned to practice for the first time Friday, pairing with Morgan Rielly.
A Tanev return would be beneficial to a Maple Leafs blue line struggling with injuries. Nick Blankenburg and Marshall Rifai, who were filling in for Tanev, were both recently placed on injured reserve.
Tanev has struggled to stay healthy over the past two seasons. He appeared in just 11 games last season due to multiple injuries and underwent season-ending core muscle surgery in March.
