Earlier this week, there was a late entrant to the free agent market when the Ducks and winger Chris Kreider agreed to a mutual contract termination. The move opened up needed cap space for Anaheim while Kreider now gets to pick where he wants to play next.

While initial reporting said that Kreider’s desire is to return to the East, that doesn’t mean he’s only considering teams in the Eastern Conference. His agent, Matt Keator, told Kevin Paul Dupont of The Boston Globe (Twitter link) that while Kreider’s preference is indeed to sign in the East, he will entertain all options
