Jesperi Kotkaniemi is taking it back to where it all began.
The Carolina Hurricanes forward used his day with the Stanley Cup on Monday to celebrate his roots in his hometown of Pori, Finland.
Enersense Areena hosted Kotkaniemi and the Cup, along with more than 2,000 fans, to celebrate the Hurricanes’ championship.
The City of Pori and his former youth team, Porin Assat, presented Kotkaniemi with special commemorations.
The 26-year-old excelled during his time with Porin Assat, including making his debut with the under-20 team when he was just 15 years old.
After the presentation at the arena, fans in attendance had the opportunity to take a photo with Kotkaniemi and the Cup.
Kotkaniemi also took the Cup to his former elementary school, then brought it on a quick ride on a jetski on the lake.
