EL SEGUNDO, Calif. and NEW YORK (Oct.
24, 2026) -- DIRECTV today announced a new multi-year distribution agreement with the National Hockey League for Hurricanes Hockey Network, Blue Jackets Hockey Network, Wild+, and Blue Note+ pregame, postgame, and in-game live sports services.
Each of the four channels will be available to DIRECTV streaming and satellite customers who live in each team’s NHL-designated home territory and subscribe to Choice and higher packages, and each U-verse customer in those same regions who subscribes to U200 and above.
This agreement also provides distribution rights to each NHL team to all of DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS’s thousands of sports bars, restaurants, fitness clubs, and other commercial venues located within each team’s respective region.
DIRECTV has recently obtained regional or local rights to provide 76 of the 81 U.S.-based NHL, NBA, or MLB franchises to their local fans, including multi-year agreements for 23 U.S.-based hockey teams.
“We are committed to keeping fans connected to their favorite teams and giving them more choice and flexibility in how they watch and what they pay,” said Rob Thun, Chief Content Officer at DIRECTV. “As local sports distribution evolves, DIRECTV brings team channels, regional sports networks, and other viewing options together to make it easier for fans to follow the teams they love.
We’re pleased to work with the NHL, NBA, MLB, and others to deliver that experience.”
“We’re thrilled that fans of the Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, and St. Louis Blues can now watch their favorite team on DIRECTV in their local market,” said David Proper, NHL Chief Media Officer and Senior Executive Vice President. “Making it easy for fans to follow their teams is at the heart of what we do.
This agreement puts our clubs in four passionate hockey markets in front of more of their fans, and that’s a win for everyone who loves the game.”
Carolina Hurricanes local games are available on channel 650 (streaming, satellite) and 1726/726 (U-verse).
Columbus Blue Jackets local games are available on channel 660 (streaming), 660-1 (satellite) and 1735/735 (U-verse).
Minnesota Wild local games are available on channel 668 (streaming), 668-1 (satellite) and 1745/745 (U-verse).
St. Louis Blues local games are available on channel 673 (streaming and satellite) and 1747/747 (U-verse).
As the local sports landscape continues to transition and teams move to different forms of local distribution, it has become more complex for providers like DIRECTV to ensure that all the fans who previously enjoyed games can still receive them. Here are the U.S.-based NHL teams available to local DIRECTV streaming, satellite, U-verse, and commercial customers.
