KHUSNUTDINOV: It’s official. Marat Khusnutdinov is sticking around until 2030.
The Bruins announced the three-year, $11.85M ($3.95M AAV) deal for the 24-year-old forward yesterday afternoon. ESPN’s Kevin Weekes reported that the two sides were “closing in” on a deal Tuesday, and ESPN’s Emily Kaplan followed up with the contract term and AAV a few hours before the Bruins made the announcement.
Pretty good deal for the Bruins, given the way the market shifted this summer.
Khusnutdinov has 54 points (23-31–54) in 178 career NHL games.
GAMEDAY: The Bruins (7-2-1) open a quick two-game homestand tonight. The Nashville Predators (3-2-3) flew into Boston yesterday and are here for the first of a two-game road trip.
The Predators have not played since Saturday, a 5-2 win against the Blues, while the Bruins landed in Massachusetts yesterday after a four-game road trip to the Western Conference.
NEXT UP: The Bruins will hold morning skate at TD Garden at 10:30 AM. They will not practice tomorrow, but will skate ahead of Saturday’s game at TD Garden.
Neither morning skate this week is open to the public.
Boston Bruins (via 𝕏): The Bruins released a coded message (-1 letter) alongside Fanatics and the NHL in the rollout of the Hometown Remix series.
