Owen Beck is making a quick return to the big leagues.
The Montreal Canadiens forward has already made one trip between the NHL club and its AHL affiliate to start the season, but he's back on the move as the team recalled him once more on Thursday.
Beck was first called up by the Canadiens on Oct. 12 and was most recently sent back down on Wednesday morning.
The 22-year-old then played for the Laval Rocket on Wednesday night and recorded a goal in the 5-1 victory over the Syracuse Crunch. He played his last NHL game a week earlier against the Washington Capitals on Oct 14.
Montreal has encountered some injury trouble this season with forwards Ivan Demidov, Florian Xhekaj and Mike Matheson all sidelined at the moment. Beck was originally brought up when Xhekaj first got injured.
The young forward was selected by Montreal in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2022 draft. He's made 30 NHL appearances since then, including a career-best 15 games last season, when he recorded his first NHL goal.
He has a goal and an assist in two games this season.
The Canadiens are off on Thursday but return to play on Friday at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m.
PT against the Chicago Blackhawks.
