The Boston Bruins (9-3-1) are closing out their quick two-game road trip tonight against the St. Louis Blues (5-6-1). The Bruins are coming off their first regulation loss since Oct.
5, a loss that snapped an eight-game point streak.
Despite scoring just once on Tuesday, the Bruins still rank fourth in goals-for per game (3.77) and second in goals-against per game (2.15). They have won seven of their last nine games and have a three-point lead over the Canadiens, Senators, Panthers, and Maple Leafs at the top of the Atlantic Division.
They are 4-2-1 on the road this season, while the Blues have a 3-2-1 home record.

The Blues, led by ex-Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery, are one of 10 teams below .500 this season. They have lost their last two, being shut out in both, and have played 123:55 without a goal.
The Blues put 46 shots on goal against Montreal on Tuesday but could not solve Canadiens goaltender Jacob Fowler.
Brandon Carlo, who was traded for Fraser Minten, a first-round pick, and a fourth-round pick at the 2025 trade deadline, is playing in his fourth career game against the Bruins. On June 27, the Maple Leafs traded Carlo to St. Louis for a pair of third-round picks.
The Bruins swept the season series last season, winning both games 5-2.

Bruins Morning Skate Notes
The Bruins will skate at Enterprise Center at 12:30 PM ET (11:30 AM CT). Updates from Marco Sturm will follow.
a healthy scratch. He skated on the third defensive pair alongside Mason Lohrei, who moved back to the left.
Frederic Brunet skated on the fourth pair at morning skate, and he will be a scratch on Thursday night.
“I think it’s part of the process going with young players, especially with [Brunet],” Sturm said to reporters in St. Louis. “He’s done a really good job.
We noticed [over] the last two, three games [that] he kind of got stuck a little bit. And yeah, we’re just going to reset him.
I think it’s going to be good for him. Again, it’s part of the process, and I believe in that, and also, we have a big roster.
We have some other guys that are ready to go, and Cliffy is one of them.”
Clifton has not played since October 10, a 5-1 win over Philadelphia. He drew out of the lineup when Charlie McAvoy returned from his six-game suspension.
“All of them (Kuraly, Clifton, Aspirot)
they handled it really well,” Sturm said. “I couldn’t ask for [a] better attitude [than] what they brought to the team.
Their spirits are high; yeah, they all want to play, they will all get their opportunities, but they’ve been outstanding.”
Clifton started the season on the third pair alongside Nikita Zadorov. He recorded one assist and averaged 20:38 of ice time, picking up a bigger role throughout McAvoy’s suspension.
“I played six good games. Obviously, we have eight really good D here, so it is what it is,” Clifton said.
“I got to watch. Yeah, a little longer than I would’ve liked.
But I just want to pick up where I left off and play my game.”
Jeremy Swayman will start in net.
