'Tis the season for goalie mask art to start hitting social media and airbrush artist Dave Fried has shared a couple of the more unique ones we can expect to see this season.

Los Angeles Kings goalie Anton Forsberg collaborated with Fried on a stunning"City of Angels"-themed mask.

The mask features beautifully drawn angel statues on either side with the Kings retro crown logo. The top is dual film strips with palm trees inside each frame while the backplates shows likenesses of his children and dog.

Forsberg had a similar color scheme while also paying homage to Kings legends last season, his first in Los Angeles.

Speaking of continuous themes, Washington Capitals goalie Logan Thompson uses a different movie for every mask. In the past there were nods to"National Treasure" and"Night at the Museum" but this season's is the 1996 Tim Burton cult classic"Mars Attacks!".

The mask features the campy alien invaders and their spaceships as well as Jack Nicholson's president Dale on the sides above prominent Capitals logos. The idea, Fried says in a short video clip, came about during a discussion while Thompsons was being tattooed.

The backplate shows off characters Donald Kessler (played by Pierce Brosnan), Rude Gambler (Danny DeVito) and Byron Williams (Jim Brown) as well as another alien life form.

The stacked cast of"Mars Attacks" also featured Sarah Jessica Parker, Glenn Close Annette Benning, Martin Short, Michael J. Fox, Tom Jones, Natalie Portman, Pam Grier and Jack Black among others.

Needless to say to feature all of them, Thompson would need a much, much bigger helmet.
