It seems like everywhere that Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin goes this summer, he winds up in a family feud.
He ignited a feud with his Red Wings family earlier in the offseason by demanding a trade following 11 seasons with the club. By utilizing his no-movement clause to limit his future team to three destinations — the Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild, or Vegas Golden Knights – Larkin has made the chances of an early separation from Detroit highly unlikely.
He could very well find himself in training camp with the Red Wings in Detroit this September. And won’t that be an awkward family reunion?
The Family Feud Larkin has signed up for on Thursday night shouldn’t prove nearly as contentious.
Detroit Well Represented in Family Feud
It will be a USA Hockey showdown in this week’s edition of Celebrity Family Feud, the popular game show hosted by Steve Harvey.
USA Hockey’s three gold-medal winners from Milano Cortina will all be represented on the show. It was a clean sweep for the Americans, winning the men’s, women’s and sledge hockey titles.
The Family Feud will be a gender showdown, with USA Hockey women tangling with the men. Representing the distaff side of the USA Hockey champions are three members of the Detroit PWHL franchise – Hilary Knight, Cayla Barnes, and Hannah Bilka. Also on the team are Laila Edwards and Caroline Harvey.
On the men’s team with Larkin is Winnipeg Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck. They’ll be joined by Paralympians Griffin LaMarre, Jack Wallace, and Declan Farmer.
The show is airing tonight at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC. The gold medalists will face off against each other to raise money for the USA Hockey Foundation.
